One Year Retrospective on Housing Conditions Calendar

The Honorable Melvin R. Wright will be the guest speaker at the April 27, 2011 meeting of the Office of the Tenant Advocate stakeholders.

The Honorable Melvin R. Wright will be the guest speaker at the April 27, 2011 meeting  of the Office of the Tenant Advocate stakeholders. The meeting will be held from 1 pm until 3 pm in the Office of the Tenant Advocate’s conference room located in Suite 300-N in the Reeves Center, 2000 14th Street, NW (corner of 14th and U Streets, NW).

Judge Wright will provide a retrospective on the one year anniversary of the Housing Conditions Calendar, which is part of DC Superior Court. The Housing Conditions Calendar provides a forum for tenants to file a complaint seeking a court order requiring the landlord to make needed repairs. Judge Wright’s remarks will include data on the number of cases heard and their resolution. He will share his experience as the presiding judge over the Housing Conditions Calendar.

Judge Wright is the Deputy Presiding Judge of the Civil Division in DC Superior Court.  He has many years of experience hearing landlord and tenant cases.

The Reeves Center is serviced by several Metro buses including 52, 53, 54, 90, 92, 93, 96, X3 and the McPherson circulator.
