OTA Educational Institute

OTA’s Education and Community Outreach team conducts educational workshops and classes in a variety of contexts to inform the greater District of Columbia tenant community about their rights and other rental housing concerns.
In collaboration with OTA’s Legal and Policy branches, OTA’s Education and Community Outreach team develops educational materials, classes as well as virtual tutorials on issues important to District tenants. OTA can also schedule customized classes for tenants interested in forming a tenant association. Additionally, OTA offers monthly Renters Rights 101 classes.

The Renters’ Rights training offers tenants an overview of applicable District of Columbia laws and tenant rights.


OTA’s catalogue of YouTube based tenant tutorials include: Housing Code Violations, What to do if you find Mold in your apartment?, DC Law on Security Deposits, among others.
