WJLA Story on Tenants Receiving Emergency Housing Assistance

On August 6th WJLA-TV ran a story about a District of Columbia family that has been displaced from their home by a fire.  As Stanley Young searches for replacement housing for his eight kids, the Red Cross provided them with an emergency hotel stay for three days.  The Youngs are now receiving an extended short-term hotel stay under the OTA’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP).  In a follow-up story on August 8th, WJLA reported that Rapper Nas was moved to help raise funds for the family upon hearing about their plight.  These stories put human faces on the District’s emergency housing programs.  They can be viewed at:
